ABOUT IRIS + eMBERS

North Georgia Maternity Session | Reep + Maternity

Do I really need a maternity session?

Yes!

Maternity sessions are a must, especially if you are a new momma or if it’s your last baby.

Whether you have waited one month, or seven years like I did, getting to the end of a pregnancy term is one of the most incredible moments in your life.

Your child will want these images of you one day.

You will want these images of you one day.

Your parents will want these images of you one day.

When is the best time to schedule a maternity session?

Although it’s fun to document your growing belly throughout your pregnancy, I tell those only wanting one maternity photography session that it’s best to schedule it in your last trimester, at least 4 weeks before your baby’s due date.

This ensures that your bump is adequately showing and provides a little extra time in case your baby arrives early.

In general, most moms-to-be tend to get more uncomfortable during the last 30 days of their pregnancy.

Scheduling your session at least 4 weeks before your session gives you a little extra energy to power through it and make sure you don’t miss this incredible moment in your baby’s life before they enter the world.

Session Feature: Outdoor Spring Maternity Session

Lawrenceville, Georgia at Prospect Farms

This precious mother-to-be was about to have her last baby and her first baby girl.  The connection she already felt for her baby girl was something that she did not want to miss when it was gone.

She knew that one day, she would want their early bond captured and so would her baby girl.

Oh what a feeling to know how hard this momma is already working to show her newborn how loved she is.

If only, every baby on earth could have a mother love them so!

To have the honor of photographing such an incredible season is truly humbling and inspiring.

It’s why I always pray before my sessions. I am truly so thankful to be a partner with my clients and to provide a service that will allow others to keep these moments forever.

What’s one thing you recommend all maternity clients do to prepare for a session?

I always recommend hair and makeup for clients but especially for maternity at least 30 days prior to the session.

We love to send our clients (including this lovely Mamma!) to a local salon, Matthew & Co. located in Flowery Branch, Georgia for both hair and makeup.

In general, the cost can range from $80 to $200 depending on what services you select.

Even though it adds to the investment, it always gives mammas-to-be a chance to rest, relax, feel glamorous, and let someone else do the work of getting ready.

One hundred percent of the time, this shows up in the confidence they bring to their sessions.

Any other tips you recommend?

Yes!

For styling, I recommend hiring a photographer that offers styling and has a client closet!

We carry a variety of maternity gowns for mom’s to be to make styling both easy and fun at no extra cost.

You simply choose the gowns you like best or we bring a selection to your session. We take care of the cleaning, steaming, and transporting.

On the date of your session, we bring the gowns, accessories, and a changing tent for privacy.

This momma is wearing a client favorite which is an epic, We Are Reclamation, lace gown that was handmade in Canada.

This gown flatters with or without a baby bump! It’s truly perfect for a timeless maternity, motherhood, or couples anniversary session.

If you have any questions, reach out to us or leave a comment! We’d love to connect with you!
